Historic Restorations

Restoration of the pipe organ at the Church of the
Maternity of the Blessed Virgin in St. Paul, Minnesota.

< Back | NA >

These pictures were taken during the last week of the
pipe organ restoration. The organ has now been returned
to the church for service. It was first used on Sunday,
November 12th 2006. It was completed two weeks
ahead of the specified completion date, even with the
unexpected difficulties associated with the water
that accumulated in the basement during the project.

The last pipe is placed into the organ to complete the cleaning.

The tuning of the Regal in the Brustwerk completes the tuning.

This picture and the next three show the Hauptwerk interior after cleaning.

This picture shows the new tone openings built into
the old back panels. The panels had been removed
for many years to allow the choir to hear the organ
better. The old removed panels allowed dirt to
accumulate and quicken the need for cleaning.
Acoustical cloth was installed behind the new
grillwork to slow down the accumulation of dirt.

To accommodate servicing of the Hauptwerk division,
the panels had hinges and support arms installed.

The organ restoration is now complete.

Thank you for visiting our pictorial of the cleaning and
restoration of the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin
pipe organ.
